A little bit of rust...

...because I love it. The door hanger is core board covered in number die-cuts and layer after layer of paint. Followed by some of my buckles - I love these! Did I tell you I bought 10kg in a sale a while back? The centre of the giant washer is a vintage typewriter key and I have added some of the 7 Gypsies rub-ons I like so very much.
Another cat food tin lid necklace, this one a posy of used horseshoe nails and a butterfly. What a contrast between the life of horses used for racing and the freedom of nature.
The house is clean, the shopping done and I am organised to go out tonight. Harvey is asleep on the floor and Archer beside me on the bed, I think I will join them for a Saturday afternoon snooze. How was your day?

Holey Moley Julie 10kgs of belt buckles--but they do look great on the door hanger--what great frames they make.

Beautiful. I see your little book every time I sit on the edge of my bed it stands next to a favorite pic of hubby and an art doll I made and it makes me smile inside every time I see it. Thank You.

Now that I've seen these two gorgeous pieces of art, my day is perfect! The necklace is stunning! Your interpretation of racing vs freedom of nature is just right. And the door hanger has such depth of color. Thanks for making my day perfect!

PS - If I ever become a millionaire I'm going to buy everything you make!!

Goregous work as always Julie, my day was filled with running kids around to birthday parties, changing a tyre on the car (thanks to a wayward nail) and a Kaszazz demo in the evening. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers!

Love the door hanger Julie - it is awesome - I share your love of rust. 10kgs of buckles sounds pretty awesome too! My day was filled with blog reading (catching up), journal quilting and doing a page in my art journal, trying to get a decent photo of my tiny little fairy slippers plus of course domestic weekend stuff!

Hi Julie,

OMG both of these pieces are mouth wateringly gorgeous. Love the rust, yum yum.... the layers of paint is a MDM trick is that right?? Can you please share with me, which colours exactly you use to get the rusty look?

Cheers

Necklace is just superb. The posy with the horse shoe nails and the butterfly look amazing with the amber coloured beads. Yumbo jewellery.
